Lale and Mehmet were born in Turkey. An economist, she assumed the family business. He, a chemical engineer, attended graduate school at LSU, followed by international posts; with the last stop from Germany to Hendersonville. Their labor of love would become the Melange which they began in 1998 with the vision to create a destination nest with elegant interpretations of the olde world!
“We both grew up in an environment of spiritual largesse; of tolerance and brotherhood. The paths of our children today are evidence of world citizenry. All our guests have enriched our lives greatly. To many of the couples who married at the Melange, Lale and I became adoptive parents. As foodies, we strive to be ever more ecologically conscientious, favor local produce, and routinely receive one of the highest sanitation grades of the area.”
