2nd Annual Movie on the Meadows - June 15, 2013 - 7:30-11 p.m. - Watch The Last of the Mohicans on a huge outdoor screen where the last 17 min. were filmed. Invite your sweetheart or friends for an evening of fun, suspense and adventure. Bring a blanket or chair and a flashlight. Moviegoers should arrive from 7:30 to 8:30pm, movie starts at 9pm. May 25 & 26 - Authentic Appalachian storytelling and music performances by John Fowler at 12:30pm and 2pm at the Outdoor Classroom. A bona fide national storyteller and award-winning old-time musician with family ties to the Southern Appalachian hills, John Fowler has shared his talents at festivals, classrooms and performance halls from coast-to-coast for 25 years. John presents a rich anthology of Appalachian stories and songs collected from generations of Carolina old-timers and storytellers. On stage, his performances for all ages are hilarious, creative, energetic and historically informative.

 John is a master harmonica player and has won awards at national banjo and guitar competitions like the prestigious Mountain Dance Folk Festival in Asheville, N.C.
