We love our guests

Thank you for your kind words about my painting. Have posted it here. The Melange was like a home away from home. You, Lale & Alexis made us so comfortable that I could concentrate on my paintings. Thank you again.

Thank You

Mehmet and Lale,

We want to let you know what a delight it was to meet you two this past weekend.  Our stay exceeded our expectations!  The Cinnamon Room was so very nice. The sleep peaceful.  The Ambience was perfect.  The food delicious!  And the magic table – where one leaves some apples and the next day there is a scrumptious dessert in the room and a wonderfully delicious fruit-filled puffed pastry for breakfast. J

Thank you for sharing some of your life story with us. As we have grown older we realize more and more that People are the most important thing on God’s Green Earth.  We sincerely hope to return to Melange and spend a few more delightful days and nights.

Please let Erin know that we thought she did a great job serving. Kind Regards,

Clell and Tammy

THANK YOU

Well what can I say except…….PHENOMENAL!!!!! This is probably one of the best B&B’s I have stayed at and we travel quite a bit! What history this place holds and the owners are amazing in itself! We stayed in the Emerald Room and everything was just perfect from the bed to the bath(OMG I love the shower) to the fantastic verandah area! I think I spent more time on the verandah reading and enjoying my wine than anywhere else! Breakfast the next morning was amazing and that was prepared by no other than Lale and Mehmet! This is no regular breakfast people! Everything was elaborate from the place settings to the food itself but yet very welcoming and like you were home! Location was a plus……to sit and look out it felt like you were miles away from the nearest restaurant/shop area but really we were less than a mile away! Wonderful shops and restaurants were available to us as well as a fresh food market area right down the street. Highly recommend this lovely home away from home and look forward to coming back and staying longer!

Fall Color in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville NC

Autumn in the mountains of western North Carolina

Autumn in the mountains of western North Carolina

Where to Find Color Week-by-Week

  • October 2-9: Highest elevations north of Asheville above 5,000 feet show the most color, especially in the Mount Mitchell, Craggy Gardens, Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, Rough Ridge and Graveyard Fields areas.
  • October 8-16: Color will increase in elevations greater than 4,000 feet, including the Mount Pisgah, Black Balsam, Devil’s Courthouse, Waterrock Knob, southwest of Asheville on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It will also be peak color in the Highlands area, including Whiteside Mountain, with plenty of waterfalls to enjoy, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, including hikes to Alum Cave and Chimney Tops.
  • October 14-23: Many of the surrounding mountains around Asheville show plenty of color, especially in the 3,000-4,000 foot elevation range. Take the Parkway north or south from Asheville. A great hike in Pisgah National Forest would be Looking Glass Rock or Cradle of Forestry. North of Asheville, head to Linville Gorge with hikes to the top of Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain. West of Asheville, Bryson City and the Nantahala Gorge will shine.
  • October 20-29: The city of Asheville (2,000 feet elevation) shows the brightest colors, along with areas around Hendersonville and Brevard. This is the perfect time for a waterfall hike in DuPont State Forest or leisurely walk at the NC Arboretum. This is also the peak leaf color for Biltmore Estate.
  • October 25-November 4: The color show concludes in the Chimney Rock area (elevation of 1,300 feet). Ride to the top of Chimney Rock or take a boat tour on Lake Lure. Also peak at Lake James and South Mountains State Parks.
