Appalachian Storytelling & Songs on Memorial Day Weekend at Chimney Rock Park

May 25 & 26 – Authentic Appalachian storytelling and music performances by John Fowler at 12:30pm and 2pm at the Outdoor Classroom. A bona fide national storyteller and award-winning old-time musician with family ties to the Southern Appalachian hills, John Fowler has shared his talents at festivals, classrooms and performance halls from coast-to-coast for 25 years. John presents a rich anthology of Appalachian stories and songs collected from generations of Carolina old-timers and storytellers. On stage, his performances for all ages are hilarious, creative, energetic and historically informative.

 John is a master harmonica player and has won awards at national banjo and guitar competitions like the prestigious Mountain Dance Folk Festival in Asheville, N.C.
